1. Focus on Long-term Sustained Weight Loss
We have all done it…tried the latest fad diet, fasted and felt terrible, started some intense and complicated extreme diet only to stop after a few weeks. Many of us have even lost weight with the latest “lose weight fast” plan, only to watch those pounds come right back and find us even faster than we were able to lose them. Despite all the hype, long-term, sustainable weight loss is actually very simple:
- Eat a little bit less (portion control);
- Move around a little bit more (exercise); and
- Don’t eat junk (choose healthier foods).
If you want the weight to stay off, don’t try to lose it all in the first week.
